Turn-by-turn directions

Start at the senior citizens' home in Neumühle/Elster - turn left about 80 m along the road to Nitschareuth - turn right and cross the road - follow the markings, straight ahead after 150 m in the forest we reach a forest path to the rest area 300 m away with the Heinrich Fritz memorial plaque - turn left - follow the serpentine uphill to the "Bach-Goethe-Hain" rest area (345 m above sea level). Follow the serpentine uphill to the "Bach-Goethe-Hain" (345 m above sea level) - turn right and walk 1.2 km slightly downhill on the beautiful mountain path to the natural monument "Schieferfelsen" and the rest area "Lehnamühle" (240 m above sea level). After crossing the new railway bridge, you will pass through the village of Lehnamühle with its 5 houses - turn left at the railway subway - after 100 m straight ahead and 150 m further on, turn half right onto a meadow path - after 200 m straight ahead you will reach the forest - at the first signpost in the forest, be sure to follow the signs for the "Elsterperlenweg" and "Rüßdorfer Alpenweg"! (Use the alternative route only in bad weather or if you are not able to walk at altitude) - at the end of this path you have a wonderful view of the Elster valley (295 m above sea level) - turn sharp left and walk 400 m uphill to the next forest road junction - turn right and you will reach the "Mühlburschensteig" - follow the latter on a level, slightly sloping path for 1.5 km to the signpost Eulamühle (240 m above sea level). After 20 m turn left up the serpentine path, past the old quarry, after 1.5 km you reach the "Herrenwiese" - cross the new stream bridge - turn right, parallel to the Weiße Elster, after 1.2 km you reach the lower Pfarrzipfel - after 80 m uphill, following the stairs, you arrive at the upper Pfarrzipfel in the village of Zickra (320 m a.s.l.). After 400 m, along the Feldrainweg, you reach the intersection with the "Alte Poststraße" rest area - turning right, the Alte Poststraße leads back down into the valley to the Weiße Elster - crossing the B 175, end of the stage at the former customs house (220 m above sea level).

Getting there

You can reach Greiz from the A72 via the Reichenbach exit. From the direction of Greiz past the Fürstlich Greizer Park via the L2344.
