Turn-by-turn directions

Start at the retirement home in Neumühle/Elster - left approx. 80 m along the road to Nitschareuth - turn right and cross the road - following the marking, straight ahead after 150 m in the forest we come to a forest path to the 300 m distant rest area with the Heinrich Fritz memorial plaque - turn left - the serpentine uphill to the rest area "Bach -Goethe-Hain " - turn right and walk 1.2 km slightly downhill on the beautiful high path to the natural monument" Schieferfelsen "and the Lehna Mill rest area - after 100 m straight ahead, cross the local road - to Cross the new railway bridge, walk through the 5-house village of Lehna Mill - turn left at the railway underpass - after 100 m straight ahead and another 150 m turn half right onto a meadow path - after 200 m straight ahead you reach the forest - at the first signpost in the forest, follow the signs Follow the “Elsterperlenweg” and “Rüßdorfer Alpenweg” (alternative route can only be used in bad  weather conditions or if the altitude is not suitable)

At the end of this path you have a wonderful view of the Elster Valley. Turning sharply to the left, hike 400 m uphill to the next forest path crossing - turning right, you reach manden “Mühlburschensteig” - following the latter, you walk on a flat, slightly sloping path 1.5 km to the signpost Eula Mill  - after 20 m left the serpentine path uphill, past the old quarry, after 1.5 km you reach the "Herrenwiese" - crossing the new brook bridge - turning right, parallel to the White Elster, after 1.2 km you reach the lower parish tip - after 80 meters uphill, the Following the stairs, we arrive at the upper parish tip in the town of Zickra  - along the path Feldrainweg after 400 m you come to the intersection with the rest area "Alte Poststraße" (Old Post Street) - turning right the Alte Poststraße leads back into the valley to the Elster - crossing the motorway B 175, end of the stage at the former customs house.

With the regional express from Erfurt as well as with the Vogtlandbahn from Gera or Plauen / Weischlitz, the starting point of Greiz is easy to reach.

The Elsterperlenweg can also be perfectly combined with the Vogtlandbahn through the other train stations in the stage interconnections of Neumühle, Berga and Wünschendorf: www.vogtlandbahn.de
