Turn-by-turn directions

At the main entrance of Greizer Park, walk past the famous summer palace and the kitchen, further over the air bridge - in the direction of “Eleventh Hour” up to the Ida Peak (Idahöhe) with the memorial stone and the 100 m distant viewpoint with a view of the “Obere Schloss” - further uphill to the viewpoint and "Teufelskanzel" rest area (360 m above sea level) - past the legendary "Klingensteinen" (397 m above sea level) - after 3.5 km you reach Amtsreuth (406 m above sea level) - after 400 m slightly downhill, at Vogelherd, you come on the forest road to Bretmühle - past the junction Ringelgraben you come after 2 km to the "Lugenberg" (365 m above sea level) - after 300 m to the forest area "Schießstand" - at the next intersection of the Bretmühlenweg the EPW turns left in the direction of the legendary Moosgraben - continue over the left-hand Hammerberg, after 7.3 km of the day's stage you reach the magnificently situated Röschnitzgrund (245 m above sea level) - 500 m uphill you turn left at the fork in the field - and err Eight the local road from Nitschareuth - here a visit to the historic town center 800 m away with its farmer's museum is recommended - the EPW now leads to the lookout point and rest area "Amselstein" (315 m above sea level NN) - after 600 m downhill you reach the idyllic stage destination Neumühle/Elster.

Public-transport-friendly

With the regional express from Erfurt as well as with the Vogtlandbahn from Gera or Plauen / Weischlitz, the starting point of Greiz is easy to reach.

The Elsterperlenweg can also be perfectly combined with the Vogtlandbahn through the other train stations in the stage interconnections of Neumühle, Berga and Wünschendorf.

Getting there

You can reach Greiz from the A72 via the Reichenbach exit. Then Reichenbach and Greiz via the B94 and use the public parking spaces in the area of the Fürstlich Greizer Park.
