A diverse small town with a view from the “Pilz”.
The seven districts that belong to the municipality of Lengenfeld have much to offer visitors of the Vogtland. This may be due to the town’s long history, which most likely dates back to the 12th century, although the earliest documentation is from 1438. This makes Lengenfeld’s church square around the St. Aegidius Church as well as the dyer guild house definitely worth a visit. If you would first like to obtain an overview of the town, you need to head to the “Pilz”: the 471m high viewing tower is Lengenfeld’s landmark and offers an excellent panoramic view. From this perspective, it is easy for hikers, mountain bikers or Nordic walkers to choose which of the Vogtland’s beautiful destinations they would like to explore.
