Heinrich Schütz House in Bad Köstritz

The impressive exhibition is dedicated to the city’s most famous son.

Heinrich Schütz, Bad Köstritz’s most famous son, first saw the light of day between these walls on October 8, 1585. The life of Germany’s first composer of international significance began here, before he moved on to Weißenfels, Kassel, Marburg, Venice and finally Dresden. The museum’s exhibition focuses on each of Schütz’s stops in life.

Diverse events around the museum depict the works of Heinrich Schütz – from the Central German Heinrich Schütz Days, to concerts and colloquiums, as well as to musical performances by children and adults together.
