The neo-Renaissance style building was built in the late 19th century as the residence of hosier Ferdinand Schopper. In 1927, it became the home of Zeulenroda’s municipal collection. Today, the museum has many valuable items on display, in particular period furniture from various eras.
Furthermore, new exhibits focussing on city history, as well as alternating special exhibits on historico-cultural or regional topics are being added.
