“Rabensleite” Vivarium in Zeulenroda

Many different kinds of animals to marvel at, learn from and pet.

The vivarium is located in the Rabensleite amidst the woodlands on the northern outskirts of Zeulenroda-Triebes. Around 150 animals from 26 different species live here in enclosures and aviaries. In addition to the native red and fallow deer, sika deer, Himalaya tahr, raccoons, kangaroos, emus and llamas are at home here. In the petting zoo, miniature goats are just waiting to be cuddled and petted by the visitors, and children can take pony rides around the vivarium with advance booking.

A nature trail takes you through the grounds, providing valuable information about the native fauna and flora. Two playgrounds are also available for the little ones to romp around on while the adults enjoy refreshments at the “Rabensleite” Café.
