The major focus for several years here has been on the work of Dr Konrad Duden, who taught at the Rutheneum.
The museum provides an impression of his influence up to the present day. Lecture evenings are held here regularly. Discover more about the development of the grammar school, how the famous dictionary was written and developed as well as the history of Schleiz at the exhibition and in the lectures. The Latin school located at the site where the Rutheneum now stands was probably was the first educational centre in Schleiz and the Teutonic Order was its patron.
