There is an impressive collection related to the urban and cultural history of Hof in the historical hospital building, the origins of which date back to the 13th century.
It includes a model from the 16th century, which makes it quite easy to recognise the former medieval townscape even now; it is situated in the cellar vault.

Hof is conveniently located on the A 9 (Nuremberg-Leipzig-Berlin) and A 72 (Hof-Chemnitz) motorways. From the direction of Nuremberg take the Hof-West exit, from the north take the Hof-Nord exit (B 173), from the direction of Chemnitz/ Plauen take the Töpen exit (B 2), and from Regensburg / Prague take the Hof-Ost exit (B 173).
