The local history museum is located in one of the oldest buildings in the town of Schöneck. The house was built around 1834 and for a long time served as a hospital, shelter for the homeless, soup kitchen and later as a youth hostel and kindergarten.

After extensive restoration work, it was reopened in July 2005 and now houses the local history museum and the museum cafe. Inside you will find a lot of information about cigar production, the history of the city, the way people work and live and their past. Particular attention is paid to the more than one hundred year history of the cigar industry.
