A wild and romantic historical setting reminiscent of times long past.
The castle, which is located between the small villages of Krebes and Ruderitz, was first mentioned in 1479 in connection with the nearby Gothic pilgrimage church. Apart from this, not much is known about the lords of the castle. Due to its location on the former West German – East German border, the castle ruins have only been open to the public again since 1989. It is a worthwhile destination for romantics, as the old Gothic ruins beneath the large oak and linden trees leave lots of room for your imagination.
