The Peace Bridge in Plauen

For more than 100 years, the dry-stone bridge across the Syra valley has been a symbol of great engineering performance.

Construction of the Friendensbrücke took two years to complete at the beginning of the last century. In 1905, it spanned the finished viaduct across the deep valley of the Syrabach, and its 90m-wide arch is considered to be one of the largest stone arches in the world, even today.
