Agreement on the Protection of Data Privacy

As a prerequisite, we have observed the stipulations as to data protection as per the German Federal Data Protection Act along with other department-specific stipulations on data protection such as the German Teleservices Act, the German Tele Services Data Protection Act, the Interstate Agreement on Media Services and the German e-Commerce Act. We have obliged our staff and business partners to confidentiality as well as to non-disclosure of data secrecy. This Agreement on the Protection of Data Privacy shall be valid for any and all websites within our responsibility. The websites may contain links (hyperlinks) to websites of other companies and organizations. Such websites are not covered by this agreement.

Our website allows for use without entering any personal data. Other regulations may apply for the use of individual services on our websites. Such regulations will be explained later on for these specific cases. We will process your personal data (e.g. name, address, email address, phone number etc.) solely in compliance with the regulations set forth in the German legislation on data protection. Data shall be considered to be personal if it can be allocated unambiguously to a certain natural person. The legal grounds of data protection are set forth in the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Broadcast Media Act (TMG). Our goal is to observe the copyrights of any pictures and texts used in all publications, to use pictures and texts which we have created ourselves or to use license-free pictures and texts. The copyright for any published objects which we have created ourselves shall remain with us. Copying or using any such pictures and texts in other digital or print publications requires our express agreement.

The Hamburg District Court has decided in its verdict dated 12th May 1998 that placing a hyperlink on your website might hold you responsible for the content of the linked website. Such responsibility may be avoided only be expressly dissociating from such contents as per the District Court. We have linked other online websites. You may contact us by email and/or the contact form on our website. The information provided by the user for contacting purposes will be saved in order to process the contact request. Your data will not be disclosed to any third party. The data thus acquired will not be compared to data potentially acquired through other components on our end either.

Use of Google Analytics with anonymization function

Our website uses Google Analytics, an online analysis service by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain view, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter named “Google”. Goole Analytics uses cookies, text files, which are saved on your computer and thus allow for analysis of your use of our website. The information rendered by these cookies, such as time, place and frequency of your access to our website including your IP address will be sent to Google in the USA and will be saved there. Our website uses Google Analytics with the affix "_gat._anonymizeIp”. This affix will have Google shorten and thus anonymize your IP address as early as within the EU member states or other EEA states (member states to the Treaty on the European Economic Area). Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our website in order to create reports as to website activity for us and in order to render further services related to the use of our website and the internet. Google may send this information to third parties if this is statutorily required or if a third party processes this data under Google’s order. Furthermore, Google offers a deactivation add-on for all popular browsers which allows you to better control which data Google may acquire in relation with the websites you visit. The Google Analytics browser deactivation add-on, however, does not prevent information being transferred to us or other online analysis services also employed by us.
